11/03/08 Praise God!! We returned home on Friday morning from New York, where we had an absolutely wonderful time of ministry at the Manhattan Adult Rehab Center. The Lord is SO GOOD!! We started the trip in Pennsylvania where we made quite a few new friends at the Community Baptist Church in Montoursville and Victory Church in Troy. We were also blessed to be hosted by The Canton Ministerium where we reconnected with some “old friends” of C11. We ministered for the first time at the Dallas State Correctional Institute, and once again at the SCI Retreat in Hunlock Creek, PA, The Lord continues to open doors and pour out His grace as we share His truth where He leads us!! Thanks for those of you who lifted us up in prayer while we were out. We thank God for you.(Philippians 1:3)
10/22/08 We have had a little time here at home with our families, but it’s time to get back out on the road. We are leaving tomorrow for PA and NY. We will be ministering in 3 churches, 2 prisons, and conducting a 3-day revival at a rehab center in Manhattan before we return. Please pray for us...and those we will be ministering to. Please also remember to pray for our families while we are away. Thank you, Friends!!
10/3/08 Happy 1st Birthday to Trey Jacobs!!
10/2/08 Whew!! We just got home from Pennsylvania and Delaware where we spent the last five days. Our bodies are tired, but our God is SO GOOD!! We had great services with two of our supporting churches, as well as two ARC’s and a prison. Praise the Lord for His spirit still striving with men and women. We saw hearts melted by the presence of God, and quite a few commitments were made for Christ! We want to say a special thank you to Harriet and Phyllis Groomes for hosting us in Western PA. We love you ladies! God Bless!
9/16/08 We are enjoying a little time at home with our families and home churches...preparing to leave this weekend for Georgia. I’m writing today to amend my previous post. I have been corrected...and it’s good news! Neither Scott nor I are in our middle ages. According to a very reliable source, “middle age is the period of life beyond young adulthood but before the onset of old age. Various attempts have been made to define this age, which is around the third quarter of the average life span of human beings.” According to Collins Dictionary, this is "... usually considered to occur approximately between the ages of 40 and 60". The Oxford English Dictionary gives a similar definition but with a later start point "... the period between youth and old age, about 45 to 60". Hey...I am thrilled!! According to this I still have, at the least, five years I can still call myself a young man. That is great news! LOL!!
9/10/08 Wow!! Time goes by so quickly. We have just come through our busiest summer of ministry, and the Lord is continuing to open doors and keep us on the go. Over the last few months, we have almost reached our goal of ministering in Rehab Centers and Prisons 2/3 of the time. It’s truly been an exciting time as we’ve seen God leading us to new places. He has recently opened the way for us to minister in prisons in New Jersey and South Carolina, so there are more and more places we can share. Praise God!! On a personal note, Scott celebrates his 33rd birthday this Saturday, so he will be officially in his “middle ages.” His son, Trey, will be one year old in just a couple of weeks, and lastly...he and his wife, Tara are expecting their 2nd child in February!! Congratulations!! As Scott mentioned in our last newsletter, Philip & his wife, Kim, are expecting another little boy in December, so please remember Commandment 11 (and their wives) in your prayers over the next few months during this “fruitful” season.
5/5/08 We are now 1/3 of the way through 2008 and we just returned from Pennsylvania. The Lord has been opening so many doors for us in prisons and Salvation Army rehab centers and it is SO EXCITING! We had the opportunity to minister at Rockview SCI and were so amazed by the awesome presence of our God. We can tell you with great certainty that the Lord is doing great things in the lives of many men behind bars. We also had the opportunity to spend a good deal of time with our dear friend and prison minister Denny Vermilya, and were so blessed by the hospitality we received from all our friends...old and new.
2/5/08
We now have our new cd, “Devotions” in hand. We will soon have an online store where you can actually order and pay for your cd’s online. Be looking for that!! God has been so good! We have seen an absolutely wonderful start to our new year, and we are so excited about what lies ahead. We are heading out this week to speak and sing at a youth retreat in Gatlinburg. Please keep this in prayer...that God will move in a mighty way, and that our lips will speak only what He would have us say.
